Also, if you need pictures to brighten up your work-website (or just any website) there are a lot of good creative commons pictures out there. Flickr has an option to limit your search for cc-licensed pictures you can use – also commercially.

Esben tsk tsk… the purpose of Tilt-Shift is to mess with the perspective, you should choose a picture that has a foreground, middle-ground and background and then say; make only the middle-ground sharp and blur the rest. The picture above doesn’t really work for miniaturization purposes because you have 2 points seemingly on the same level with different sharpness. That aside I do like your picture also with the arbitrary gradient map you have applied.
