The last week or so something strange has happened.
For a long time any week would have at least one or two new rumors about an upcoming Apple product. However this past week there haven’t really been any Apple rumors… at all! It’s only been opinions on how other tech stories might have an influence on Apples future business.
So why has there been no rumors? Did Apple suddenly stop making new products? Unlikely! My guess (though highly unlikely) is that the new Apple tablet is finally done and that we are just waiting for the release. This could have given Steve time to hunt down the leakers who’s been having a field day the last couple of years!

So everyone (in the tech crowd) knows that Vista wasn’t such a great success for Microsoft, and now that Windows 7 is on the way to market this guy believes it’s no better than VIsta.
And then there is the confusing add campaigns (somewhat rectified by the PC hunters ads) that makes one wonder, whether Microsoft even know what they’re promoting!
Couple that with some pretty bad investment decisions, a massive failure of it’s Sidekick/Danger service right before they are to launch their own cloud services (Azure and Myphone) and a new phone operating system that already seems outdated.
It doesn’t exactly put them in a good light.
In some ways this seems a little reminiscent to Apple’s history in the late 80′/early 90′s. A company that doesn’t really know what they are doing, or why they are doing is, so instead they try to diversify as much as possible.
So will Bill Gates have to come back and shape things up? I’m not sure, and maybe Microsoft is actually doing great… but we might just be at a tipping point in the history of personal computing where more and more people will try to find alternatives to Microsoft’s apparently declining products!
(Note: this is only an opinion and not based on any inside information. You should not see this as any sort of investment advice whatsoever.)

As some might recall I’ve been looking for the best cup of coffee for some time.
I just so happens that I found the “best” cup of coffee here in Australia, in the Sydney suburb named Manly (I wanna make a joke about the name, but it would just be too lame!).
It’s not that the coffee itself was amazing… it was mediocre at best. The thing that swayed me was the location of the café that served it.
As you can see in the following “photographic journey” it is located on a beach with a very relaxing view.
A path leads from Manly beach to…
Shelly beach.
When you get to Shelly beach you’ll find Le kiosk.
Right next door is their small café called The Sandbar Cafe, which has this view… so laid back (at least I think so).

So here’s the deal. I’ve been in Sydney, Australia for a little over a month now and so far I’ve managed to read a couple of books, see more of Sydney and the surrounding areas and do some bike riding on my faboulous new beachcruiser (mentioned in my last post). The thing is, though, I feel like I’m not doing enough with my time here. I guess it’ll change somewhat once I get a job, but at the same time I do enjoy being on vacation. So it’s somewhat of a predicament.
