A long month
So a lot has happened this last month after returning home... most importantly I'm no longer engaged.
I'm quite sad about it, but won't go into depth with it here but thought it reasonable to tell you people out there as I had divulged that I had gotten engaged.
It haven't been quite as bad coming back home as it was after the US. But on the other hand I still feel quite confused anyway.
I started working again seeing as I'm quite broke after Japan and need money for vacation (more about that in a moment). At the same time I've started on my thesis, which is the only thing I've got left of my studies, that is if I passed my classes in Japan. It's a bit more energy divulging than I expected and as usual I'm not exactly good at planning my time well (I partly blame that on me going back to an electronic calendar). So so far my thesis work has consisted of having a preliminary meeting with my counselor, borrowing the books I need, reading a bit and feeling bad for not doing more!
By now I've realized that I need to do something about this whole time-managing problem of mine, so I've decided to go back to my pocket-calendar in hope that I'll be better at managing my time then.
But going back to vacation! Right around the time me and Alexandra broke up Mark started talking about going to Australia and wanted/invited me to come along. I've never really had any burning wishes to go to Australia before, except to visit friends, neither do I at this point... but I really feel like I need a break away from everything, partly to get over the breakup and start my thesis and partly to visit some friends in Sydney. One is René from USC, see my post about him here http://blog.clubesben.dk/2005/10/update-starbucksi-mean-3.html, the other is Minsi that I met on my exchange in Japan.
I'll be leaving for Sydney in just about three weeks and will be gone for about 4 weeks.
This takes me back to a post I did when I just got home from the US. I talked about my confused state being caused by to much time "connected" (see original post here).
On my trip I'll only bring my iPod (which does have web and email access (but needs wifi to do so)), my camera and my phone, which should minimize my online time a bit. Maybe it'll help me a bit... can't remember if it did last time :D
That's all folks! I'll return with more news later on.
